BQE COMPLETES THE SEISMIC RETROFIT OF A 753 UNIT TUCK-UNDER APARTMENT BUILDING COMPLEX

BQE has successfully completed the design for the seismic retrofit of the largest apartment complex in the City of Burbank.

Lakeside Apartments, owned by Avalon Bay Communities, is a 753 unit apartment complex with 20 separate buildings covering several blocks of the City of Burbank. This is the “first” soft story apartment retrofit in the City of Burbank utilizing City of Los Angeles, Division 93 retrofit ordinance.

Once again, BQE has taken the lead and set a practical example on how to strengthen a building with soft/weak story conditions such as apartment buildings with “tuck-under” parking.
